Ashkers Juice Bar, Bistro and Gallery provides an experience worthy of a few visits
Juicing is a great past time. When juicing on your own, you can use whatever fruit and vegetables you want and make a fresh, revitalizing drink. Of course, this does involve owning a juicer. If you don’t have a juicer, you would be missing out, but no worries! Ashkers has refreshing cold pressed juices that will give you an energy boost, a vitamin boost, and an ‘ahhh’ boost.
In the Elmwood Village, right on 1002 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14222 actually, is a small juice bar, bistro and gallery. In addition to a nice selection of juices, Ashkers also does wraps, panini, salads and soups. I haven’t tried their food yet, but I will certainly get plenty of chances to.
I love juicing, and when I do it I tend to fast, so I didn’t grab any food the first time I was there, but I had Ashkers Upbeet Juice which they made and brought out to me while I was sitting at a table. The second juice was a type of green machine (that’s not it’s real name) which was the day’s special which I took to-go for a lunch juice. They had it ready to grab next to the register. The cashier was telling me that it’s a cold pressed juice, meaning the cold pressed juicing method keeps the vitamins, minerals, and enzymes preserved better than a typical juicer. Because of this, oxidation is less likely to occur and the juice can be kept up to 3 days, which is awesome because my homemade juice just barely makes it 4 hours.
The ambiance at Ashkers is fantastic. It is a great location for meeting-and-greeting, and a small outdoor patio allows patrons to enjoy the Village on beautiful summer days. Ashkers has a front room and a side room that is perfect for meetings. Friday mornings are a little busy as a Meetup business networking group meets there (no worries, we don’t bite), but the food is fresh, the coffee is hot, and the juice is cold.
If you haven’t done it yet, stop by Ashkers for either a coffee or a juice and check it out! They’re a great little shop and we’re thrilled to have them in Buffalo!
